Popcorn chicken! She gets this, an hour of fun in playland, a free piece of fruit, and a free cookie from the bakery. This is why I rarely shop anywhere but Fred Meyer.

Tyler's preschool teacher emails links each week with movement songs the kids dance around to in class. Tyler and Allison really like this penguin song. Allison's even more into the songs than Tyler is, but his movments are a bit more accurate.
I saw Tyler down on floor and was concerned that he was crying. Turns out he was praying. Sweet boy!
My girl may be growing up fast, but she's still snuggly like a baby.
First it was toys, then it was paper. Now he's building creations with anything he can find around the house. He makes excellent use of our recyclables.

Allison tried her first gummy worm one day. After holding it for 10 minutes, she finally tried a bite. She then finished it off quickly and gleefully danced around the room saying "gummy! gummy! gummy!" Apparently it was the best thing that'd ever happened to her, and weirdly enough she stopped caring about them only a couple days later. That's my fickle girl for you!

I like these new building materials in the construction room. They're far more little kid friendly than what was in this room at this point last year.
Cute kiddos!
The kids got Valentine cookies as part of the Scouts fundraiser. They delivered them on the weekend, 4 days before Valentines, so I let the kids eat them early.

We took off the ribbon on the kids' balloons since Nibbler eats it, but they're not as fun to play with that way. I replaced it with twine the next day, which worked out perfectly. The kids vastly preferred being able to hold them by a string, and Nibbler couldn't eat the itchy twine (though not for lack of trying. He kept gagging on it and gave up).

I kept trying to get a picture of Allison in this dress, and Tyler kept photobombing. Of course when I try to get a picture of both of them, he won't look at the camera.
This year Oscar and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary with pedicures, going out for Thai Food, playing Family Feud at the adult ward activity, and seeing a movie. Men were supposed to bring a dessert for the activity, so Oscar made an "In Our Lovely Dessert" beehive cake with yellow starburst jellybean bees.

During that same week I took both kids to the YMCA child watch nearly everyday. Ty usually only goes on Saturdays since I typically take Allison in the mornings while he's at school. On Thursday Tyler made a new friend named Owen, and after two hours asked me if he could stay and play longer. It's a wildly different reality than what we were living during this time last year. Then I barely brought him out of fear that he'd hurt someone, and when I did I rarely left him more than about 30 minutes.
Oscar did a 10k up in La Conner, Washington with a Kids' Dash for Tyler and Allison. He ran in the falling snow and even managed to come in 9th place!
Thankfully it didn't snow during the Kids' Dash!
Tyler was the first to cross the finish line while Allison came in dead last, but she had tons of fun and wanted to keep running. I love watching her start off strong then get too distracted and start running off to the side. She's like a cat!
My climber girl! This middle picture was the first time I've ever seen her putting the Lego Duplo train tracks together. She calls them puzzle trains.
And here are my cute Kitties climbing up for some affection while the kids were asleep. They must be attracted to my white tiger blanket and jammies. I'm just a big feline!
