Spring 2023

In April we got some really beautiful days, then it went back to the cooler temperatures of late winter. Friends who've lived here longer than me say it was an extra cold spring. We got out and enjoyed the weather and fun events whenever we could though. A nearby stake center put on a beautiful Easter presentation walk-through, and the kids played at the park with friends.

We also went to a local Egg hunt where we met the Easter bunny

And the kids freaked me out by climbing up the dugout fence.

Here are the kids doing our annual Easter Egg Hunt

The kids missed a few and didn't find them until a few days later. For dinner Oscar made Spirit Prison and Spirit Paradise breads along with Earth and cross bread sticks to represent the atonement and the plan of salvation.

Here's Tyler making Chex Mix and Allison building with Lego gummies and being super silly.

The middle C started becoming really inconsistent on our digital piano. We tried to fix it, but failed and broke the piano.

Allison had a couple sick days and got in some good kitty cuddles during her nap.

Cute kitties!

Allison was an instrumentalist in her 1st Grade Showcase "The Day the Crayons Quit." Her drum playing was very cute.

They also showcased the 1st grade art

Here's Tyler climbing at climber's park while Allison was at Duck Chuck camp and Allison finding playmates wherever she goes, including teenage boys at the pool.

Both the kids knocked it out of the park at the WHES talent show

Here are their pre-show videos and their live performances.

In late April we took the kids to Elitch's for their first visit of 2023. Here they are having fun on the cat and mouse bumper cars.
Ty and I tried unsuccessfully to ride half pipe while Allison waited a very long time to do the kid roller coaster. She ended up going with this cute little boy who needed a bigger supervising companion.

In early May both the kids came down with stomach bugs. Tyler had such severe cramping I had to take him to the ER with appendicitis concerns. He was unmedicated and really struggled while they performed the ultrasound. Thankfully he was fine, but it was a rough day for both of us.

It was the same day as the Gifted and Talented showcase. Oscar still took Allison while Tyler and I stayed home relieved to not be at the hospital anymore.

For Oscar's 40th birthday I saved the card he'd given me for my 40th birthday, and we mournfully sang him the Happy Birthday song.

It was fun to watch the concrete get installed in our backyard. It looks so much better now.

I chaperoned when the 1st graders took a field trip to the zoo.

Cute kids and cute cats!

For Tyler's 10th birthday we sang him "Happy Birthday" and "Happy Birth Minute." He was born at 5:26 PST, so he had to commemorate it when it turn 6:26 MST.

Oscar made him a Minecraft Creeper cake as requested.

He's getting harder to shop for, but I still managed to find some good gifts.

I also made chicken gnocchi soup and Oscar made bread sticks for his birthday dinner.

Wet get a lot of beautiful scenery and interesting weather here in Colorado.

Here's Tyler's pumpkin drawing and a cute picture of Allison at her 1st grade school picnic.

Oscar got to work on the pergola while I worked hard on the piano marvel pop challenge. This song, "Livin' on a Prayer" was particularly challenging, but super fun.
