Timeline 2022

In January the kids both started making huge strides in their piano playing. I also increased my own skills significantly when we began using a software called Piano Marvel. The three of us all got extra practice when we came down with Covid. Fortunately my case was mild and the kids were asymptomatic.

In February and early March we played at Arena Sports, celebrated Valentines' Day, and celebrated my 40th birthday. I started helping out my friend Roberta after her knee surgery and we saw the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington after one of her appointments in Seattle. Later in March Oscar and Allison attended the daughter/daughter ball and we enjoyed our new face freedom when the state mask mandate ended. Oscar worked on repainting, landscaping, and remodeling our home to get it ready for sale. Read more in 2022: Late Winter and Early Spring.

In February we celebrated Oscar and my 16th anniversary with a cruise to Mexico. The ship left from Long Beach, CA, so we spent one day at Universal Studios before sailing away. Read more in 2022 February Vacation: Part I - Universal Studios

In Puerto Rico we went on a cruise excursion to meet a Sea Lion and a dolphin. Read more in 2022 February Vacation: Part III - Puerto Vallarta.

In Mazatlan we hiked to the El Faro Lighthouse and visited the Acuario Mazatlan. Read more in 2022 February Vacation: Part IV - Mazatlan.

In Cabo San Lucas we took an excursion to Wild Canyon Adventure Park. Read more in 2022 February Vacation: Part V - Cabo San Lucas.

During the kids's spring break we took them up to see waterfalls, go tubing, and have fun exploring Vancouver and Whistler BC. 2022: Vancouver/Whistler Trip.

After our April trip, Oscar used the remaining months before we moved to fix up our house for sale. The kids and I went to a fun Easter activity, saw the reptile man, had our own Easter egg hunt at home, celebrated Oscar's birthday, and returned to Science World in Canada to celebrate Tyler's birthday. I worked my last shifts at Edible Arrangements, we made final visits to Wild Waves, final visits to the children's museum, the kids finished up school, and we took one last trip to Silverwood Theme Park. During our final days in Washington Tyler went to primary activity day camp, rode Wings Over Washington with auntie Malia, and we played at High Trek zipline and ropes course. In July we moved to Colorado where I immediately became involved with Opera Theater of the Rockies Vocal Arts Festival. The kids did a few summer camps, we spent a day at Water World, and we explored our new surroundings as much as we could whenever we had time off.  Read more in Summer in Colorado: Part I - July 2022

In August we took granny and grandpa to the Garden of the Gods, the kids started school, Oscar and I went hiking while the kids did parents night out, we bought a trampoline, and we took a couple trips to our local theme park Elitch Gardens. Read more in Summer in Colorado: Part II - August 2022

In early September we took a labor day weekend trip to Missouri, celebrated Allison's birthday at home and at the Royal Gorge dinosaur experience, and the kids did their school fun run. Read more in September 2022: Part I - Missouri Trip and Allison's birthday.

In the 2nd half of September we visited the Pikes Peak summit and North Pole Colorado Santa's Workshop at the base of the mountain. I won the Method and Technique challenge with Piano Marvel, we visited Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for the first time, and Oscar sets to work leveling our basement for finishing. In the first part of October we took the kids to our local recreation center's Harvest Festival. During the first week of their fall break we went to Legends minigolf, the Calhan painted mines, Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs, Wishing Star Farm, and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where we upgraded to an annual pass. During the 2nd half of October we went to Lost Island Adventure Park, Cave of the Winds Mountain Park, the Shrine to the Sun at the zoo, carved pumpkins, attended a couple trunk or treats, went to Elitch Gardens, and trick or treated locally on Halloween night. Read more in October 2022: Part II.

In early November Oscar and I attended the Denver temple together for the first time, we took a trip to the zoo to see the new baby giraffe, the kids had their first snow day, and we got a new, beautiful piano. During Thanksgiving week the kids attended a Thanksgiving mini camp, Oscar and I hiked Pulpit Rock trail, we did our traditional Cornucopia hunt, and we had Thanksgiving dinner at Macaroni Grill. The next day I accidentally attended the Littleton Christmas Parade on my way to pick up mom and dad from the airport, and while they were here we visited Garden of the Gods, did a bunch of Christmas shopping, and took the whole family down to Magic of Lights. In December we participated in advent window calendar, Allison and Oscar attended a daddy/daughter holiday ball, we finished our basement, took the kids to Cookies with Santa, and attended Electric Safari at the zoo. During the kids' winter break I went with some friends to see the Christmas Lights down at the Broadmoor hotel and took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge to do their dry activities. On Christmas Even we all went bowling, went out to dinner, and drove around to see Christmas lights. We had a great Christmas at home and enjoyed the good weather the next few days by going to Lost Island Adventure park to go mini golfing with Christmas lights. Read more in December 2022.

And for our final days of 2022 and first couple days of 2023, we took another trip to Missouri. We celebrated Joseph's 5th birthday and all the girls except the baby went to Glo-Wild at the zoo. The next day we all attended the Zoo during the day, and on Saturday we took Emily, James, and Joseph to Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium. The older cousins came swimming at our hotel, and on Monday the older boys had fun playing Magiquest at the Kansas City Great Wolf Lodge. Read more in New Year Missouri Trip 2023.
