Spring 2025

Spring 2025 started off with seeing some fun clouds, cuddling our cute kitty, Tyler making a Roman soldier mask, and Oscar finding a dead Salamander in the window well.
I was cast as Aunt Bartolo in "The Barber of Seville in California" with our outreach program. We had a couple rehearsals in Highlands Ranch, and I took a lovely hike in the area before going to rehearsal.

Oscar spied a jackrabbit in the neighborhood, we cuddled our cute kitty some more, the kids played with daddy while I was at rehearsals, and I got to participate in a fun escape room at our Relief Society activity.

One day we got a pretty big snowstorm. I jokingly said "okay kids. It's time to go jump on the trampoline!" but Allison took me up on it!

The kids had fun hunting for eggs and prizes on Easter Sunday.

Oscar baked bread to represent fish, honeycomb, the sun and the cross.
Allison got a 3 in 1 Lego Flamingo set and made all 3 versions of it over the next few days.

I started seeing a CLL specialist and took regular trips up to Denver. After one appointment I ate at a Mongolian Barbeque place where my fortune cookie told me I needed to share my abundant humor with others.

While we were in California the wind knocked down part of our back fence. Without the fence we see a lot more spring bunnies in our back yard.

The youth held a Garage sale, bake sale, and car wash to raise money for camp. Tyler was a great worker at the car wash. Our beautiful weather was followed up with cold sleet because we live in Colorado.

We had the house painted a beautiful gray color. We hired professionals and thought Oscar would finally get to relax and let other people do home improvements for him, but alas, Allison had a hey day in the bathroom and caused some water damage to our ceiling. He had to work on it right away to prevent the wood from rotting.

Here are some clips and pictures from our Barber of Seville rehearsals.
I like this fireworks shot Google photos made of Davvian.

Tyler did well at his band and jazz band concerts.

Oscar's brother William came to visit and got to see our newly painted house. They also redid most of the trim and repainted it. It looks really nice and goes well with our rocks.

Auntie Lia came to visit before she heads down under to Australia. She came with us to Allison's GT showcase that evening.

In addition to seeing a couple of Barber of Seville performances, I took Lia to see the Garden of the Gods
and tosee  the Paint Mines in Calhan.

Someone offered to take these cute sister pics for us in the cavern.

Here's Tyler mowing the lawn and Allison running the obstacle course on her school field day.

Nibbler was cute, as usual. He's 16 now!

Oscar and Tyler went up to Denver for a youth temple trip.

Tyler turned 12 on May 21st! We celebrated his birthday at home that Wednesday.
And that Friday we held a birthday party for him with some boys from church and school. Oscar made this great Micecraft cake.
Here he is blowing out his candles.

It was a casual open house style party where the kids could come and go whenever they needed to. They mostly played table games and video games. I'd said "no gifts" since it was last minute and I didn't want people to feel like they needed to go out and buy him something, but a few kids brought gifts anyway.

Tyler put together this K'nex dinosaur he got for his birthday and had fun having an improv night with the other deacons.
After years of our front bumper gradually falling apart, we finally caved in and replaced it. Then it started having some engine problems and we had to pay for those too. We'd put about $4500 into it only to have it break down on my way back from an appointment in Denver. Thankfully Toyota foot the repair cost since they recognized it was their mistake. The oil can had gotten pinched during the repair causing the motor to seize up completely. Our engine had about 175,000 miles on it, and they replaced it with a used engine with 120,000 miles, so hopefully that gives us a few more years with the car.

Allison and I had our hair done and Oscar observed a huge flock of birds flying around our pond.

And the week before we started our summer trips, I took the kids and Nolan to play at Urban Air.
