Sea World Orlando 2025

After our Discovery Cove day we took mom and Kathy to Sea World. It took a few minutes at guest services due to mom losing her ticket at Busch Gardens, but they were able to issue her a new ticket for her 2nd and final day. We took them on Mako, which I figured was a safe bet for them since it's all hills and not super intense. They did enjoy it, and Oscar and Tyler arrived just as we finished up. I sent mom and Kathy over to the Shark habitat while I rode Mako with the family 3 more times. The family rode 2 more times while I took mom and Kathy to the nearby street taco cafe to use their meal plans. Oddly enough mom's meal plan worked fine, but Kathy's didn't. They still gave her a meal but told me we'd have to go to guest services to get her meal plan fixed. I went there with her ticket, but the line was huge and completely exposed to the direct sunlight, so I hung onto her ticket until I could take it back later.

Tyler's rockin' some great Mako hair in the picture above! If only I could get him to actually style his hair that way.

We then went on Expedition Odyssey, though Oscar had to wait for us and ride it later. He had our backpack with water bottles and the kids trick or treat bags and they won't let you bring large bags on the ride.

We then went over to the Orca show, which is always amazing. Unfortunately they were having pixel rendering issues with their screen, but otherwise it was great.

The family then went over to get food with mom's meal plan while I went back to guest services with Kathy's ticket. Fortunately the line only took 10 minutes and some clouds had come out. If I'd waited out in the sun earlier it would have been at least 30 minutes. They blamed Busch Gardens for messing with the ticket and issued us a meal plan wristband. I decided to just put it on my wrist so Kathy didn't need to wait in all the lines whenever we wanted to order food. They were still eating when I came back, so I took Allison on Pipeline. She liked the full body air time but said it was otherwise pretty uncomfortable. It's fine for me, but I remember Tyler being uncomfortable on it last year too. I think you really need to be at least 5 ft to enjoy it.

Oscar and Tyler took mom and Kathy through the arctic habitat while we were gone then Oscar and Tyler got in line for Expedition Odyssey while Allison and I went with mom and Kathy. We tried to ride Infinity Falls, but it was closed. We then grabbed some yummy pizza bianca and garlic knots with Kathy's meal plan then met up with Oscar and Tyler at the Sea Lion show.

After the show mom, Tyler, and Oscar went to get some chicken fingers for Tyler with mom's meal plan while Kathy and I took Allison trick or treating. We all met back up at the dolphin show and consumed most of the candy she'd gotten. I then took Oscar to get a meal with the wristband on my wrist while mom and Kathy took Tyler and Allison trick or treating. I came back as soon as Oscar had his food, and it's a good thing I did since the kids were walking far too fast for mom and Kathy to keep up with them.

Tyler continued trick or treating while the rest of us went down to see the manatees and sea turtles. We finished off their day with a ride on Journey to Atlantis before they walked back to the hotel with Oscar and Tyler. Allison and I stayed a little bit longer to ride Manta.

The next day Oscar ran a 5k and beat the goal he'd set for himself. He ran the same race last year with a time of 21 minutes and 33 seconds. Since then he's been trying to run a 5K in under 20 minutes, and he did it with a time of 19 minutes and 46 seconds. He also came in 3rd overall. He was only beat out by two guys who were much younger than him.

Later that day we went to Aquatica where we waited entirely too long to ride Reef Plunge. Saturday was definitely busier than the weekdays we came last year in October, but it wasn't too bad since we arrived for just the last few hours they were open. At least we got to do Loggerhead lane, Riptide Race, and the Wahnau Way slides, which had all been closed during our previous visit.

The next day we checked out of the hotel and took an Uber to Port Canaveral to start our cruise (the cruise will have its own post). We came back to the hotel Thursday morning and spent a few hours in the pool while we waited for them to get our new room ready. We were able to get into our room around 1:00pm and mom and Kathy showered and got ready before catching their Uber around 3:30pm to take them to the airport.

The next day we returned to Sea World Orlando. Allison and I went early and rode Mako twice before going over to Expedition Odyssey. Oscar and Tyler got there not quite in time to ride with us, but they were on it very soon after we finished. We explored the Arctic habitat for a bit while we waited for them to finish. They finished up just before the orca show let out, which was good since the line gets slammed afterwards from everyone leaving the show.

We then went over to ride Icebreaker. It also had a longer line due to the show getting out, but the line moves much faster. Flying theater lines are always a bit slow. They goofed around balancing water bottles on their heads.

We then did Infinity Falls, Kraken, and Journey to Atlantis before taking the kids trick or treating. Before leaving the hotel I'd only grabbed one of their bags by mistake, so we had to purchase another one for Tyler.

The kids wanted to watch the dolphin show again while they ate their candy. They were tired and ready to go back to the hotel, so they trick or treated just a bit more to make their way back to the exit.

The next morning we relaxed then went over to Aquatica in the afternoon. I got to go on several slides with Oscar since the kids mostly wanted to swim in the wave pool and Roa's Rapids. We also rode the big family slides all together.

After riding a few slides we went to grab the kids from the wave pool, but we only saw Allison. Tyler had gone looking for a bathroom. The slide right next to the wave pool, Kare Kare Kurl, had a bit of a line, so we decided to wait for it to give Tyler time to catch up and ride it with us. Unfortunately Tyler hadn't used the closest bathroom but ended up using one all the way across the park and couldn't figure out how to get back to us. By the time we realized how far he was, we were getting close to the front of the line, so we texted him to just meet up afterwards. Instead he found a map, ran to us as fast as he could, and hiked up all those steps just in time to get on the tube with us.

Once the water park closed we took the shuttle back. Oscar and Tyler took our swim stuff back to the hotel with them while Allison and I got off at Sea World to ride a couple coasters in the dark. We had an hour+ long line for Penguin Trek, but at least it was dark by the time we got on it. We also saw the Emperor penguins, which are new to Sea World just this year.

Allison and I also got in a fun night ride on Manta. It said it was a 65 minute wait, but it only ended up being about 12. I think they stop updating their wait times when it's within an hour of closing.
On Sunday we took a rest day and hung out at the hotel. I took Allison to the Activity Center to grab some games, and I left with a fat lip. I'd grabbed a board game from their top shelf little knowing there was a metal tin of Uno Flip on top of it. It came flying down the game I'd grabbed and smacked me hard on the lip.
