Timeline 2019

This past January Tyler excelled in his swim lessons, Allison got a prescription for glasses, I became a brunette, and we discovered daddy has the magic touch at washing Allison's hair (which finally began growing long).
And in February we had Snowmaggedon - Seattle's snowiest February on record. Those records are taken in Sea-Tac, but we're in the convergence zone, so it was even worse for us. Read more in January and February 2019: Snowmaggedon

Thankfully we were able to break the cabin fever by jetting off to California for a themepark tour. Read more about our first few days in 

We spent the next couple days at San Diego Zoo Safari Park, San Diego Zoo, and Oscar and I visited the San Diego temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Read more in 2019 SoCal Trip: Part III - San Diego Zoo and Safari Park

The next week we spent our final vacation days at Disneyland. I extended Tyler's mid-Winter break specifically so we could be there during the off-season only to discover that Disney doesn't really have an off-season. Read more in 2019 SoCal Trip: Part V - Disneyland
In March Allison started adjusting to her new glasses, I turned 37, the kids had a blast running the YMCA ostacle course, Oscar made green eggs and ham in honor of Tyler having read the book all by himself, we had our warmest winter day on record, and we took the kids on a hike down to the base of Snoqualmie Falls. In April we took a trip down to Utah during Tyler's Spring break.

After our trip we attended a birthday party, met the Easter bunny at Fred Meyer, and celebrated Easter. In May the kids played at Healthy Kids Day, we visited Wild Waves on opening day, Oscar turned 36, William visited us during his layover, Oscar ran 35.42 miles in a race, and Tyler turned 6. We celebrated his birthday by activating our Silverwood Themepark passes over Memorial Day weekend. Read more in Tyler's 6th Birthday and Silverwood Trip

In June the weather warmed up for more outdoor fun, Tyler rocked his school fun run, Oscar took the kids berry picking, and he ran the Bridal Trails 5K where we met him at the finish line and celebrated at the party in the park. Read more in June 2019: Summerish


After school was out for summer we met up with the Anderson family at Silverwood Themepark and Raptor Reef indoor waterpark. Read more in Hunt/Anderson Family Reunion at Silverwood Themepark
July started off nice but then turned cold for 10 days, Tyler attended the Edmonds summer lunch and educational activities program, we launched rockets, we had a blast on the 4th of July, we visited Wild Waves, Tyler attended his first week of Vacation Bible School, Oscar and Tyler camped in the backyard, and we played outside as much as possible once the weather warmed back up. In late July we, Lia, and Alex met up with mom, dad, Ethan, Emma, and Sophie at Silverwood.

Shortly after returning we went to the carnival and watched fireworks at the Tour de Terrace. Read more in July 2019: Part III - Tour de Terrace
And in August we finally got the lovely summer weather we Seattlites are used to. We took full advantage of it by going outside as much as possible. Read more in August 2019: Part I - A Sunny, Lovely, Smoke-free August!

And we visited Wild Waves several times while Oscar completed an item off his bucket list - finishing the Pikes Peak Marathon in Colorado. Read more in August 2019: Part III - Wild Waves and Oscar's Pike's Peak Marathon
Over Labor Day weekend we decided to go back to Silverwood again as one last hurrah before summer ended. This time we stayed in Sandpoint, Idaho, hiked to a waterfall in Montana, and toured the Wild Horse Renewable Energy Center on our way back. Read more in Labor Day Weekend 2019

In September Allison turned 4, Mike came to visit, Tyler started school, Allison behaved wonderfully at the dentist, and we attended the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival where we watched a fireworks show over the water in conjunction with a massive lightning storm. And at the end of September we drove out to the Tri-Cities to attend Jurrasic Quest! Read more in September 2019 - Jurassic Quest
In October we visited several farms, went to Fright Fest at Wild Waves, and attended several Harvest Festivals and Halloween parties. We dressed up as a family of dinosaurs for Halloween, and mom and dad came to visit for a week while Oscar was on a business trip in Denver. Read more in

In November Allison started preschool and we took a trip to Ocean Shores with Oscar's parents. Read more in November 2019: Taking Granny and Grandpa to Ocean Shores
And to finish off the year we had a fun Thanksgiving at the stake center, bought a real Christmas tree, visited Santa at the museum, and attended several Christmas parties. I sang at the Arlington Nativity Festival again, took and kids to see Christmas lights, and we rang in the New Year at home with a giant 2020 cookie.
